St Francisville to Hammond

Leaving our stay from St Francisville was a bit difficult because we all had such a nice time. What a delightful little town and our B&B was just perfect. There were cats and kittens to play with and a wonderful breakfast with just great coffee. So then we left our wonderful B&B. Down the road we went in quest of our next destination, Hammond, LA. But oops, just one little word, left, instead of right, and the day's adventure began! We were on our way back to St Francisville and told so by a local utility worker doing his work by the side of the road😒. After some phone calls to our sag driver and our guides we got ourselves turned around and headed toward Hammond. So the day began. It was a lovely ride of 90 miles with near perfect weather except for the ever present head winds! I rode the last 30 miles solo and really enjoyed it more than I thought. Only a few dogs chased and I now check to see how long their legs are before I go into over drive. We had catfish for our dinner that was nicely done. We are in that part of the country🎣. I've included just a few pix, but I wish you could have heard the silence. It was just, well I don't seem to have the words to describe this beauty of silence.

  1. I love the picture of your shadow! I think it adds to your story. Solitude has it's time and place. We all need it now and then. What a beautiful place to find it! Love back roads for that very reason! A journey of a life time. Keep on pedaling! You are awesome.
