Rest day in St. Francisville,LA

We just love our rest days and today was no exception. We are staying in a 1870 mansion with Spanish moss on the trees and half of the riders are staying here and the other half are staying at the Butler Plantation. It has been there since 1790. We had dinner cooked there last night and it was chicken chili, cornbread, salad, and peach cobbler with ice cream.
Today we had a great breakfast at our Inn,then a short walk to a cafe for real lattes. The town is very small and we stopped in several antiques stores. Then it was time for lunch and bike cleaning. Laundry already was done and these are the major things we do on a day off. Tomorrow is another 90 mile day and the humidity is high, with the temps in the 80's.

We have met several town folk here as they stop us to talk about this bike trip. Everyone is impressed that we ride this far,but when we tell them our ages, their eyes get real big. Our new type of food is the "Poboy sandwich",which can be chicken, catfish, shrimp,or beef. Tonite we got our dinner at the Magnolia Cafe for takeout and the dessert was Pecan Bourbon pie.
That's it for now until tomorrow.
