We made it to Alpine

What a day we had. It started with rain at the ocean for the tire dipping ceremony and we had rain off and on all day. Including a little thunder clap over our heads as we were climbing the umpteenth hill. We did 3000 ft of climbing and got in around 2:00pm and just ate snacks,no lunch. The mileage was 37 miles and we are tired. We immediately went to Carl Jr's for a burger and hot coffee as the temperature had dropped into 40's in Alpine. No pictures as we were just trying to survive today.

    Congrats . . . you're on your way. Sorry your first day had to be rain and hills. Should get better. We're rooting for you. Hope to see some pictures if you have the time.

    Gail, your adventure was announced at the Needlearts meeting. Their rooting for you too. Isn't it nice to have you very own fan club?

    Wendy and Gail,
    Connie and I are so pleased to learn of your progress. We are quite familiar with the San Diego - Alpine area as well as other places you will pass through in So Ca, as we lived and traveled by car through much of the area when we lived in the area. Stay healthy, strong and safe throughout your riding. We will keep following you on a daily basis.

    Good thing you Roseville when you did - I understand the Grapevine was closed yesterday morning!! I hope today is a better, drier and warmer ride. Roll along safely! You are amazing!
